What is a wisdom tooth?
Everyone develops two sets of teeth in their lifetime. Baby teeth which are the first set start to develop during infancy and are replaced by the second teeth gradually from the age of six until early adulthood. This second set of teeth is also known as permanent teeth and generally are 32 in number. The third molars popularly known as the wisdom teeth are last of the teeth to erupt usually between the ages of 18-25 and are wrongly associated with the development of wisdom.
Wisdom teeth are always the last teeth at the very back in each quadrant of the human mouth.
Some people have four, a lot of them have three, two, one and the very lucky ones have none.
